Hi, I’m Marisa!

I’m a full spectrum doula working towards certification, with an emphasis on postpartum and lactation support. I felt called to this work after the birth of my daughter, in part because of the invaluable relationship I had with my doula, but also from the profound transformation I experienced in becoming a mother. My priorities and passions shifted dramatically. I wanted to stop spending my days in front a computer and instead use my nurturing spirit to leave the world a better place than when I entered it. This meant ending a 20 year career as a web/graphic/product designer to support the incredible journey of birthing people as a doula.

While I moved to New York City many years ago, I’m relatively new to Brooklyn and love nothing more than exploring my Prospect Lefferts Gardens neighborhood. I’m an avid cook, a hobby I bring into my role as postpartum doula to help you feel nourished and fulfilled during those first weeks at home. And if I’m not cooking or working, I’m probably outside having adventures with my almost 2.5 year old daughter and husband.

I will provide unwavering compassion and hold space for all of the feelings you may experience during this vulnerable, and oftentimes isolating, journey.

I will be a part of your village, supporting you through both the joys and challenges of birth and postpartum - whatever that looks like for you and your family.

I will share knowledge and personal experiences to help you navigate medical information and choices, including resources and referrals when needed.
